Early Humans Hunted Many Species to Extinction
(San Francisco, AP) Prehistoric human hunters, using spears and fire, drove many large animals to extinction.
About 13,000 years ago, large mammoths, huge antelope and very tall camels, populated North America.
All disappeared within a thousand years or so after the first Americans migrated from Asia.
They had moved across a dry land bridge between the two continents.
