Snack on fresh fruit instead of fat-laden, sugary desserts. Some of us recall when dessert was a sliced orange or a hunk of ripe watermelon. Remember how good they tasted?
An apple a day can keep a more sugary urge away. You may miss sugary-sweet items at first, but don’t be surprised if you find you’re starting to salivate at the sight of a bowlful of glistening grapes or a slice of ripe honeydew melon. Eat fruit as part of your regular meals — with breakfast cereal, for instance — and between meals, from a mid-afternoon pick-me-up to a bedtime snack.
