To Whom It May Concern:

　　As someone who expects to pursue a rewarding career in civil engineering, it is my hope to gain admission into National Taiwan University's Department of Civil Engineering. I believe that earning a degree from your esteemed school will greatly help me fulfill my dreams of becoming a civil engineer. National Taiwan University has one of the best civil engineering programs in Taiwan, and it would be an honor to attend such a prestigious university.

　　Since I was young, I have been interested in designing urban areas. I think that interest and passion comes from my father, who is a civil engineer working for the Taipei government. In addition, I am fascinated by the way cities are laid out and the way in which they operate. With the training I would receive from your department, I have every confidence that I would be very successful in the field of civil engineering.

　　I am very excited about the possibility of attending the best college in Taiwan and look forward to hearing back from you.

　　身为一位渴望在土木工程界追求职业成就感的人士，我希望能获准进入国立台湾大学土木工程学系就读。我相信在广受推崇的贵校获得学位，能大大帮助我实现成为一名土木工程师的梦想。国立台湾大学拥有国内最顶尖的土木工程课程之一，就读如此颇具声望的大学将会是我的荣幸。

　　我从小就一直对市区设计很有兴趣。我认为那份兴趣和热情来自于我父亲，他目前任职台北市政府的土木工程师。此外，我对城市的规划以及营运方法感到深深着迷。若是有贵系的培训，我对于在土木工程界大获成功有浓厚的信心。
